19th century
The top of the cover well-carved with a detailed scene of an official
conducting business in a garden pavilion surrounded by rocks and
trees beside a body of water, the sides of the cover and tiers carved
with lotus blossoms and scrolling foliage, the interiors and bases
lacquered black.
