LABELS: on the base of cat. 2178, the printed label, ‘GvR’ under Mounts: France; late 18th century and later
a crown, with ‘213’ added in pencil; and on each base, the label, H 26.5 cm; W (base) 20.0 cm
‘EiiR’ under a crown, with handwritten ‘K.7a’ (cat. 2178) and
‘K.7b’ (cat. 2179) added; a typed label, ‘JAPANESE’, with ‘circa A small, broad-based jar with rounded shoulder, low neck and
1740’ handwritten in ink below, and ‘HCS’ encircled in pencil in spreading five-lobed rim; the cover a small, round, lacquered disc
the top left corner of the label. with petalled gilt-bronze border, raised on a band pierced with
circles, and with pineapple knob. Painted in shaded tones of gold
