A JADEITE SNUFF BOTTLE A GREYISH-WHITE JADE ‘MENG HAORAN’
QING DYNASTY, 1800-1900 SNUFF BOTTLE
The bottle is carved on the narrow sides with mask-and-ring MASTER OF THE ROCKS SCHOOL, QING DYNASTY, 1740-1860
handles, the stone with red strata on one side, and white and The bottle is carved on one side utilising the russet ‘skin’ of the
deep-green mottling on the reverse. Together with a beige stone to depict Meng Haoran accompanied by his attendant,
quartzite snuff dish. the other side in low relief with a blossoming prunus tree
