MOTHER-OF-PEARL
Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), 18th/19th century
The square box with hinged cover and flat base, inlaid in on the lid
with a ssang-hee (‘double happiness’) character within flowering
branches and saw-tooth and flower-head borders repeating on
the edges, the sides with floral garlands, all, metal lockplate and
hardware, the interior with paper lining
