               This current vase is unique in that the painter
               of the underglaze blue decoration has inserted
               spaces in the design of the vase and indicated
               with small dots where the gilt bronze handles
               should be applied after the firing of the porcelain.


               清康熙   青花獸面紋銅雙鳳耳瓶
               瓶身側面雙銅耳上下根部,各可見以青花繪虛
               線標示安裝銅耳部位於器身上,表明銅耳是為
               原先器物設計而特製,屬清代青花器物製作之
               特殊品種,極為少見。
               瓶身所繪仿青銅器獸面紋、太極陰陽魚及外圈
               足四太陽紋等圖案與《清代瓷器賞鑒》著錄之
               清康熙青花獸面紋獸耳尊類似,據該著錄記
               載,康熙時期因瓶身「置耳後易敲碎,不吉
               祥,故多不置耳」(參見《清代瓷器賞鑒》,
               上海科學技術出版社,1994年,頁29,圖版編號
               12),則本拍品之原配銅耳恰與此記載相合,
               概因銅耳堅固,不宜破碎而使吉祥長久之故。
