Seated on a double-lotus base, an elaborate
Buddhist tiara concealing his knotted hair, wearing
beaded jewellery framing the face and the garments
delicately painted with ornaments.

A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AKSHOBYA
BUDDHA
18th century
Cast seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, the
right hand extended in bhumisparshamudra and
the left in dhyanamudra, wearing an elegant dhoti,
the face in a meditative expression with downcast
eyes, the hair gathered in tight curls below a domed
ushnisha, the base unsealed. 16cm (6 1/4in) high.
