NOTE:

Jian Youwen (Jen Yu-Wen, 1896-1976) was a prominent politician, educator and historian.
He studied in the U.S. and after returning to China in 1921, taught at Yanjing University
and Lingnan University among other institutions. During the war, he was involved in
various political campaigns. He moved to Hong Kong in 1949 and became a professor of
history.
