NOTE:

This painting was previously in the collection of the United Daily
News journalist, Wang Ping, and her husband, Yang Yuanda. In
1979, Musée Cernuschi in Paris organised a solo exhibition of Lin
Fengmian’s paintings. Wang Ping reported on the exhibition in the
United Daily News, and the couple generously hosted the artist
when he visited Paris. This painting was gifted by the artist as a
token of gratitude for the couple’s hospitality.
