NOTE:

The recipient of this work, Zheng Ziyu (1916-2008), was a prominent scholar who
moved to Singapore from his native Fujian. He taught at Waseda University in Japan,
the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Fudan University in Shanghai. A prolific
academic who specialised in the field of rhetoric and poetry, Zheng was close to many in
the Chinese art world.
