A QINGBAI MOULDED ‘LION AND BROCADE BALL’
WASHER
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The washer is moulded on the interior with a lion at play with a brocade ball, the well with a
composite floral scroll, covered overall with a pale greenish-white glaze thinning at the centre of the
base, the mouth bound with a metal mount.
