 Barges “The One thing you cannot ignore on the Mississippi River is the
River Barge. Seemingly ageless these “elephants of the River” can do
 Overview more, haul more and “have more” say about the river than all the
cities, states and tourists combined because without barge traffic there

would be no Mighty Mississippi River but there would be a lot more
swampland.
