Initially whenever anyone encounters the Mississippi River they think Mud, Sand, Dirt and just about any other soil
except later in mid to lower Mississippi they might add silt.
I never knew what silt was till after I got off the River and researched but I did know it was not typical to mud or sand
and there were qualities to it that made no sense to me.
