Within this VIAF cluster record, we find references to coauthors, works
created, alternative authorized headings from different vocabularies and
languages, and so on. By providing this URI, we’ve enabled our system
to not only utilize the information that we’ve provided within the system,
but we’ve enabled the system to reach beyond our system and learn about
the particular concept. This ability has a wide range of potential ramifica-
tions for cultural heritage organizations, because it can enrich our exist-
ing metadata and potentially simplify some maintenance tasks, as well as
enable the cultural heritage community to provide its own rich metadata as
linked data and contribute to the web of knowledge about a term or item.
