CHAPTER 8

                                                          • A mechanism to extract data from the source system
                                                          • To transform the data into a format the repository can
                                                             understand
                                                          • A mechanism to load the data into the repository
Setting up authentication is usually fairly simple in terms of the number of
steps involved and the technical complexity of implementing those steps.
However, access control is also very detail-oriented, so tiny details often have
a huge impact on how well authentication and authorization work—and if
                                                   they work at all.
