ST. JOHN ’S BRIEFS
Our New Bells Have Been Installed—Hear Them Ring!
On Tuesday, April 5, a huge crane parked outside St. John’s to lift into the bell tower. Several donors made this event
possible, most especially Dr. Billy and Peggy Andrews. The original bell was given in honor of Peggy’s parents while
they were still with us. Now that they’ve both passed away, the bells will remind us of the memory of Dr. Charlie and
Mrs. Barney Sackett. When you hear them chime for the first time at Easter, offer a prayer in thanksgiving for the
lives of Charlie and Barney.
A huge thanks to all those donors who have made this incredible gift possible. A drone video of the installation is be-
ing edited and will be shown at a later date. A huge thanks to all those who volunteered to assist: Kevin Hooper,
Charlie Schindler, John Welker, Bill Stuart, and Bud Walker plus all those who stopped to watch from the sidewalk.
Our Day School children were delighted to wave to Kevin and Charlie on top of the belltower roof and to watch the
crane from a safe vantage point.
