The significance of the study lies in the

reconstruction of the political and cultural

history of the Seljuks in the light of recent

scientific developments.

The 12th and 13th centuries were a dark period

of the Middle Ages, a time of much destruction

and rebirth.

A documentary is like the rediscovery of an old

site that has turned into a ruin. Therefore, it

does not only tell political history, it is also a

reminder of a forgotten social history.

It embodies the lost and forgotten images of

the land of Rûm in our minds. It instils in the

viewer a sensitivity and curiosity about the

past.

Attracting curiosity, popularising and

presenting to the public a history that has been

confined to academic texts, this is the real

promise of the film.
