REMOVAL OF SLING IN BED

Bed to be in profile position
Raise bed and remove leg piece of sling by folding under itself and pulling back to client’s hips
Whilst individual still in sitting position, roll slide sheet down between sling and individual
Lower bed and roll in corners of top of sling
Follow safe principles and pull sling from behind individual Remove slide sheet
REMOVAL OF SLING IN BED DEMONSTRATION
IF UNABLE TO USE ABOVE TECHNIQUE
• Roll individual to one side
• Pleat sling and place top tag/hooks under pillow
• Roll individual back
• Other care worker to find hooks/tag under pillow and walk down the bed • If this is still difficult you will need to roll and turn both ways
