Low energy usage
The system works on a low energy requirement. This gives huge financial and environmental savings over:
(i) electron beam systems
(ii) hydrogen peroxide systems where the packaging material has to be dried
Trials were run successfully with the system operating on a 240v power supply.
Smaller footprint
Reducing the aseptic zone from metres to millimetres means that a new machine will be much smaller in size, dramatically reducing the space required.
Many aseptic machines currently on the market can be as large as 6m x4m. A machine based on the Sterafill system could be 1/10 of this size.
