FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHERE WILL I BE BASED?
Should you choose the workshop option, you will be based in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.
Should you choose to work on site, your place of work will vary generally between London and the Home Counties.
WHAT GRADES DO I NEED TO OBTAIN AT SCHOOL?
It is advantageous to have GCSE grade ‘3’ and above (or equivalent) in Maths & English. If not, these can be completed with additional hours at college.
HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO START AN APPRENTICESHIP?
You need to be 16 years old or above (as of 31 August) there is no maximum age limit on an apprentice.
HOW MUCH WILL I GET PAID?
Your salary will increase throughout your apprenticeship journey with Locker & Riley. See ‘Benefits’ further on.
HOW WILL I GET TO WORK/SITE?
You will be responsible for getting yourself to and from your place of work.
HOW LONG IS THE APPRENTICESHIP?
The workshop apprenticeship lasts for three years, your NVQ2 qualification is gained via the college course that you will attend. The site-based apprenticeship lasts for 2 years and the NVQ qualification is gained through NVQ assessors that will visit you on site to access.
QUALIFICATION
After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a NVQ Certificate Level 2 in Plastering.
