QHSE Systems Development and Improvement
As referenced earlier in this document, having an effective business management system is essential for all businesses. It ensures that all aspects of the business are aware of the company policies and procedures and how to follow apply, manage or follow them.
For health and safety management purposes it is essential that your staff know how to follow company guidelines to manage their own safety and others. For small companies it is often sufficient to follow guidance documents such as the HSG 65, however for businesses who want to grow successfully in a structured manner then following the International Management Standards or ISO standards are highly recommended.
The three most sought after International Management standards are as follows:
Health and Safety Environmental Management Quality Management
ISO 45001:2018 ISO 14001:2015 ISO 9001:2015
These standards all follow the same principles of:
Plan Plan how you will perform your business activities
Do Do the activities according to the plan
Check Verify the work/quality/system is going according to the planned procedures Act learn from the previous steps, take action.
