Do they meet the TPI (Third Party Introducer) Code of Practice?
How independent are they? Do they work with the big six as well as smaller suppliers, or ideally the whole of market?
Are they open with you about charges and commissions and at what point you have entered into a contract?
No hard sell. Does your broker provide you with options, explain deadlines to you clearly and leave the decision to you?
Does your broker give you a forecast of your new annual bill highlighting the savings you can make?
Is the Letter of Authority clear about the permission you are giving to a broker to negotiate on your behalf with no catches?
Are they clear when speaking on the phone that this does not constitute a contract?
Do you have a named point of contact to proactively manage your account and be your after sales point of contact?
Do they adhere to the Data Protection Act?
Do they have a clear complaints procedure?
