IMPORTANCE OF BIBLE TRAINING
If the cross-cultural
worker is tasked
with clearly pro-
claiming the
gospel and disci-
pling new believers
into churches, we
should rightly expect the cross-
cultural worker to know the Book
that explains the gospel and what it
means to follow Jesus in all of life.
We could look at this from several
different angles, but let?s consider
one: making the gospel clear re-
quires strong biblical knowledge.

to put the historical facts of Jesus?
life, death, and resurrection into the
overall biblical story. For example, nicates with people, and what sin is
to arrive in a Hindu context and be- (among other things), greatly jeop-
gin talking about a man who was ardizes gospel clarity. Your average
God, who lived a perfect life, died on Hindu may simply interpret what
the cross for my sin, and rose from you?ve positively said about Jesus
the dead, without talking about who through their own understanding of
God is, how he created the universe, the gods, humanity, reincarnation,
who people are, how God commu- and so on.
