Antenna Group sells Serbian, Montenegrin TV stations in €180mn deal
Greece's Antenna Group said on December 5 it has signed an agreement to sell its assets in Serbia and Montenegro to Serbian entrepreneur Srdjan Milovanovic for €180mn. Milovanovic is the brother of Zvezdan Milovanovic, a member of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
“We are proud to have built the operations in Serbia and Montenegro into the number one television, digital, radio and content platform in those countries,” Theo Kyriakou, shareholder and chairman of Antenna Group, said in the statement.
The former director of Serbia’s Kopernikus Corporation still needs to get regulatory approval for the acquisition of the Serbian and Montenegrin assets of Antenna Group, which include include TV stations Prva TV, O2 TV and Prva TV Crna Gora, radio station Play Radio, as well as news portals prva.rs, o2tv.rs and b92.net.
Information technologies company Ericsson opened a research laboratory in Istanbul on December 4 for the development of global industry technologies within 10 years, state-run news agency An- adolu reported.
The tech giant launched the facility in cooperation with the Scien- tific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). At the laboratory, scientists are to develop technologies for 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) purposes.
“Our main goal is to make Turkey a base of research and develop- ment and production,” said Mehmet Fatih Kacir, a deputy minister of Turkey's Industry and Technology Ministry at the inauguration ceremony.
RB Partners, a Moscow based M&A, corporate finance and venture capital advisory, has just released the English version of its bi- annual review of the Russian venture market.
The period was marked by a certain stability, note the RB Partners’ analysts. Slight year-on-year variations in the number and volume of transactions could be observed, however. The number of
deals in decreased from 162 in 1H17 to 140 in 1H18. Investment volume increased from $227mn to $262mn, and average deal size increased from $1.6mn $1.9mn. The number of exits grew from 12 to 20, with total amount increasing from $133mn to $175mn.
