“We harvested 133mn tonnes (of grain in 2020), which is the second best harvest that we have seen in the recent history. For the current year, the agricultural year of 2021, we forecast 131mn tonnes,” she said.
Russia will also gradually expand its exports of agricultural products, which should exceed US $34bn in 2024, she added.
In 2020, Russia’s agricultural exports grew 19.7% on the year to $29.453bn.
The sub-committee on customs tariffs and non-tariff regulation and protective measures in foreign trade has proposed a wheat export tariff of €50/t from 1 March, instead of the previously proposed €45/t from 15 March. Other export tariffs were approved according to the previous proposal by the Ministry of Agriculture: €25/t for corn and €10/t for barley (both from 15 March), while rye is not going to be subject to duties. According to IKAR, wheat FOB Novorossiysk prices have currently reached $301/t, which is a six-year high.
