Ukraine's rail monopoly updates its 2017 financial plan
Turkish contractors awarded over 4,000 projects worth $220bn abroad in past 15 years
Ukraine's state-owned railway monopoly Ukrzaliznytsia has updated its financial plan with a downgrade of all P&L forecasts.
The move was attributed to the postponement of an expected upgrade of freight railcar rates (by 22.5%) to October from mid- June, Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement published on August 16.
The company cut its revenue forecast by 4.4% from the previous plan to UAH76.1bn (€2.542bn), its Ebitda forecast by 21.9% to UAH18.3bn (€611mn), its net income outlook by 95% to UAH0.06bn, and its capex plan by 29.6% to UAH16.0bn.
Turkish contractors carried out 4,152 projects abroad worth $220bn between 2002 and 2017, state-run news service Anadolu reported on August 11.
Companies from Turkey were awarded 180 contracts in foreign countries worth $12.9bn last year, down from 259 projects worth $23.bn in 2015. The corresponding figures were 334 projects worth $26.9bn and 423 projects worth $30bn for 2014 and 2013, respectively.
Economy ministry data compiled by the news service also showed that in 2012, Turkish construction firms were awarded 543 contracts worth $30.35bn.
The Albanian government plans to start re-tendering process for the Fieri and Vlora bypass project in the third quarter of the year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is co-financing the project, said on August 15.
The Fier and Vlora bypasses were expected to be completed in 2016 and September 2017 respectively, but the completion was delayed due to various problems.
The re-tendering refers to works associated with the construction of a 22km dual carriageway bypass road between the cities of Fier and Levan linking the Lushnje-Fier road section in the north and the Levan-Vlore and Levan-Tepelena road sections in the south of Albania that are under construction, the EBRD said in a statement.
