Pokrovske Coal, Ukraine’s largest coking coal miner and a subsidiary of Metinvest (METINV), produced 5.09 mmt of raw coking coal (16.7 kt per day) in 10M21, a 4.1% y/y rise, according to Concorde Capital’s analysis of Ukraine's Energy Ministry data. The daily coal production rate at Pokrovske Coal jumped 28.1% m/m to 16.3 kt in October. Recall, Pokrovske Coal plans to launch a new longwall in November, and Svyato-Varvarynska enrichment plant plans to be ready to process 28.8 kt of raw coal per day. Svyato-Varvarynska processes almost exclusively the raw coal mined by Pokrovske Coal.

Top manager at ArcelorMittal alleged of helping company dodge $82 million in taxes. On Nov. 17, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) charged an unnamed top manager at the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plant with manipulating the company’s documents to evade mining taxes from 2014 to 2019. The company denied accusations, saying it paid all its taxes, and accused the SBU of “unfounded hostility.” According to the company, the SBU found no evidence after searching the suspect’s home. The SBU stated that other company employees may have been involved in the alleged tax evasion scheme.

The Ukrainian government is looking for international investors for its military production firm, Motor Sich, said Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba. Commenting on the possibility of Chinese investments in Motor Sich, Kuleba said that Ukraine would focus on Western partners in the field of military sensitive technologies. He noted that Ukraine will develop relations with China as part of the Western political world. "We will, of course, trade very actively with China, and attract Chinese investment. As far as the strict security sector is concerned, we will be with our Western allies in this regard," said the minister.
Ukraine will present its film locations at an exhibition in London. FOCUS - one of the leading world events dedicated to promoting film locations and production services from around the world - will take place in London from December 7 to 10 December 2021. The main visitors are producers, directors, location scouts, and other professionals in the film industry from around the world. Ukraine has been a regular member of FOCUS since 2018, and after the quarantine break returns to London live with a stand to present the site catalog of locations. An offline stand will represent Ukraine on December 7-8, a digital stand on December 7-10, and a presentation within the official program, which will also be broadcast online on the FOCUS digital platform.
Motor Sich received an order for components for 30 AI-450T engines. The engines are being supplied to the new Turkish strike UAV Bayraktar Akinci. Ivchenko-Progress which is part of Ukroboronprom has ordered a large component of parts to produce AI-450T aircraft turboprop engines. The relevant agreement on the supply of 30 sets of parts and assembly units of the AI-450C engine for the assembly of AI-450T engines, according to the ProZorro site.
