    The newly-elected Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, is ready to support Ukraine's move towards EU membership. The coalition agreement of the new German government contains a clause stating its readiness to support Ukraine's movement towards membership in the European Union. The agreement reads, “We will work together with the EU and its Member States to further develop the Eastern Partnership and a market economy. It is also noted that the German government will continue to assist Ukraine in restoring its full territorial integrity and sovereignty”.
Skyrizon, a Chinese holding company that tried to take control of Ukraine’s aircraft engine producer Motor Sich (MSICH UK), announced on Nov. 28 that it had initiated a lawsuit at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague demanding USD 4.5 bln in compensation from the Ukrainian government, globaltimes.cn news site reported the next day. The claimant insists that Ukraine has violated the bilateral agreement on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments with China. Skyrizon stated that it has “experienced significant losses in Ukraine and in China due to a five-year period of unfair treatment and the continued implementation of illegal measures in Ukraine,” the media reported.
The United States has reaffirmed its support for NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia. On November 29, Washington officially reaffirmed its strong support for NATO's decision in Bucharest in 2008 and the Alliance's recent summit in Brussels that Ukraine and Georgia will become members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. As noted in a statement by the US State Department, “Unwavering Commitment of the United States to NATO".
On November 4, the Verkhovna Rada appointed the following four new ministers to fill the posts vacated during the Cabinet reshuffle:
Oleksiy Reznikov as the new Defense Minister, replacing Andrii Taran; Iryna Vereschuk as the new Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, replacing Reznikov;
Pavlo Ryabikin as the new Strategic Industries Minister, replacing Oleh Uruskiy;
Yulia Svyrydenko as First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister, replacing Oleksiy Lyubchenko.
All four ministers were nominated by President Zelensky and his ruling party, Servant of the People. Later, on Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Vyacheslav Demchenko as interim head of the State Customs Service, to fill Ryabikin’s vacated position. Demchenko previously led the intelligence directorate of the administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“2,100 Russian troops are permanently present on the territories of the Donbas which are not under Ukraine’s jurisdiction”, said Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi. "The enemy strengthened the front units with tank groups and actively uses drones and snipers”, he said. Zaluzhnyi called the security situation in Donbas "difficult, but fully controlled by the Joint Force, reported Interfax.
