Cautious optimism
The COVID-19 pandemic is hitting the LNG industry, but there are hopes that demand will stay resilient despite being dented in the short term.

US LNG exporter Cheniere Energy reported a first-quarter profit, but is moderating its growth projections for the whole of the year.
Indian imports
India’s imports of LNG soared 20.4% year on year in March to 2.87bn cubic metres, while production shrank by 14.4% to 2.41 bcm.
Subsea plan
Australia’s offshore regulator has approved Inpex’s plan for subsea modifications related to the Ichthys LNG project.
