     Amstar, a US company, is building a $170 million warehouse complex in Hurivschyna, a town 20 km west of Kyiv’s Ring Road, says Vasyl Volodin, acting governor of Kyiv Oblast. Located on a 55 hectare plot off the E40/M06, the warehouses will cover 340,000 square meters and generate hundreds of jobs, he said.

    Ukraine is on course for a record busting harvest. Ukrainian farms have harvested 46.99mn tonnes of grain from 67.3% of its sowing area with the yield averaging 4.38 tonnes per hectare, the agriculture ministry said October 1. The volume includes 32.2mn tonnes of wheat, 9.6mn tonnes of barley, 1.9mn tonnes of corn, and some volume of other grains, the ministry said. Favourable weather could help Ukraine to harvest an all-time high of 80.6mn tonnes of grain this year, up from 65mn tonnes in 2020, the ministry has said.
Ukrainian farms have completed the 2021 wheat harvest, threshing one third more grain than last year, the Agriculture Ministry reports.Boosted by favorable weather, the nation’s wheat harvest swelled from 24.9 million tons last year to a record 33 million tons this year. This summer’s average yield was 4.39 tons per hectare.
With a strong corn harvest coming in, Ukrainian farmers are expected to harvest a record 80.6 million tons of grains this year, up 24% over last year. Overall grain exports may increase by 36% yoy, to 60.7 million tons.
Falling milk production could lead to milk shortages by the end of this year, predicts Ukraine’s Association of Milk Producers. Through August, household milk production is down by 8%, to 4.2 million tons. Dairies, which product 31% of Ukraine’s milk, have cut production by 1.4%. According to the
