Regulation of e-commerce reform envisages identifying online sellers.
The Ministry of Economy has prepared a bill on the identification of Internet sellers. Entrepreneurs making e-sales will be required to post information about themselves as a business entity and a list of product information. Liability is to be established for failure to provide complete information about one’s identification. The State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection will obtain the right to apply to the Internet service provider to restrict access to the website for businesses that use unfair business practices, violate consumer protection legislation, and which cannot be identified.
Ukraine aims to digitize all public services and to switch to a paperless economy. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting held on September 22. Shmyhal considers this is the best way to overcome bureaucracy, domestic corruption, and abuse. Consequently, the Cabinet of Ministers approved four draft laws on electronic identification and electronic trust services, which are designed, in particular, to ensure Ukraine's accession to the EU Digital Single Market. In total, according to the Prime Minister, the Government has endorsed more than 20 European integration acts, which bring Ukraine closer to the European Union and European best practices.
Parliament legalizes virtual assets. The bill on virtual assets was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada at the second reading on September 8. It was supported by 276 MPs. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov notes that currently, the daily turnover of virtual assets in Ukraine is UAH 1 billion, but all this is in the shadows. Taxes have not been paid on any transactions with virtual assets. The new law will create favorable conditions allowing companies to register in Ukraine, and not abroad. “The
