Farmak opens an office in the UAE. The Ukrainian pharmaceutical company has opened an office in the United Arab Emirates and plans to further strengthen its expansion in the Middle East and localization in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The company said that its production facilities have successfully passed certification in the UAE government bodies. The company also registered various products which are being purchased at public and local hospital tenders in the region.
Swiss Stadler to build two plants in Kharkiv. The Acting Mayor of Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, said that "On October 6, a contract will be signed with the Swiss company Stadler, and Elektrovazhmash. Stadler is one of Europe’s leading producers of transport infrastructure including trams, trains, and subway cars. In Kharkiv, Stadler will build two plants which will bring 4,000 jobs to the local economy. After signing the agreement, the City Council will begin negotiations with the Stadler about a potential M&A with Electrovazhmash," it said.
Ukroboronprom presented a list of Russian-made goods that require import substitution. "As of 2014, our enterprises depended on Russian-made components for more than 12,000 items of various types of products," said Procurement Director of Ukroboronprom, Roman Avramov. Today, the list of goods subject to import substitution published on Ukroboronprom’s website consists of more than 3,000 items that need to be replaced. This includes components in micro and radio electronics; special alloys and materials; bearings; electrical appliances; measuring instruments and other components.
