Russia’s grain exports fell 5.2% on the year to 36.2mn tonnes from July 1, 2018 through March 21, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday citing data of the Federal Customs Service. The price for Russia’s fourth-class wheat rose by 1.3% over the week to US $228 per tonne as of March 21. Russia’s combined grain exports amounted to 52.422mn tonnes, including 40.449mn tonnes of wheat, in the previous agricultural year that started on July 1, 2017 and ended on June 30, 2018. The ministry expects Russia’s grain exports to reach 42mn tonnes, including 37mn tonnes of wheat, in the current agricultural year that started on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.

Russian e-commerce market could reach RUB2.78 trillion ($43bn) by 2024 according to the study by the Gaidar Institute published on March 13 and cited by RBC business portal. This would bring online sales to 8.5% of all Russian retail market, up from 3.5% in 2017 and 4.1% in 2018. In absolute terms this would almost double the e-commerce market estimated in 2018 at RUB1.5 trillion ($22.8bn). Gaidar's forecast is a conservative one at that, with
