9.1.5​ Retail sector news
The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service has reported the market shares of food retailers in St Petersburg for 2019​.​ ​X5 Retail Group​ became the leader, with 27%, followed by Lenta (13%) and O'Key (10%). Overall, federal chains accounted for 87% of the total.
The heat map shows how the self-isolation regime has affected different sectors​, with winners marked in green and losers in red. The sectoral trend has been that after a disastrous initial period for services like tourism, beauty salons, restaurants and luxuries, these segments have recovered gradually, although they are still beaten down. For the most recent week, we see a lot more green, although travel related services are still hard hit.
