     in May). Mining and quarrying expanded 13.8% y/y in June (vs. +12.1% y/y) as it gradually recovered from the OPEC+ agreement. Electricity, gas and AC rose 8% y/y in June for the second consecutive month, while water and sewerage continued to grow at c. 30% y/y. While most sectors were up vs. June 2019, growth slowed from 1.1-1.5% SA m/m in April-May to 0.2% SA m/m in June. In manufacturing, we saw an SA m/m contraction for the second month in a row due to the lower output of intermediary goods amid greater production in high value-added segments. The transportation sector expanded 1.5% SA m/m (+12.8% y/y), while construction posted a healthy growth of 13.2% SA m/m vs. 7% SA m/m in May. Residential housing, a driver of construction, remained above 30% y/y for the second month in a row.
In June 2021 compared to May 2021, the producer price index for industrial goods, according to preliminary data, amounted to 102.9%, compared to December 2020 - 119.9% (in June 2020 compared to May 2020 - 106.1%, compared to December 2019 - 94.9%).
In June 2021, compared with May 2021, in the extraction of minerals with supplies to the domestic market, prices increased for antimony concentrates - by 35.8%, iron ore pellets (oxidized) - by 25.2%, iron ore concentrate - by 23 , 1%, iron ore blast furnace sinter - by 20.1%, vermiculite - by 14.9%, natural graphite - by 13.2%, unrefined commercial iron ore - by 11.1%. At the same time, prices for ores and concentrates of other non-ferrous metals, not included in other groups, became lower - by 40.8%, for nickel concentrates - by 30.1%, open-ended hot-rolled, hot-drawn or extruded profiles, without additional processing, from unalloyed steels - by 16.7%, chromium and products made from it, alloys based on chromium, powders - by 16.6%, steel water and gas pipes - by 16.3% ... A decrease in prices was noted for services for the production of aluminum - by 13.1%, unprocessed aluminum - by 11.3%.
Prices for certain types of petroleum products increased: average distillates not included in other groups - by 20.7%, light distillates not included in other groups - by 18.7%, motor gasoline with an octane rating of more than 98 according to the research method - by 18, 1%, petroleum distillate fuel other, medium distillates not included in other groups - by 17.1%.
In the production of chemicals and chemical products, prices for phenols have increased - by 30.9%, synthetic organic tanning substances; inorganic tannins; tanning compounds; enzymatic preparations for preliminary tanning - by 26.3%, benzenes -
by 21.3%, chlorinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons - by 16.5%, artificial fibers - by 14.1%, industrial monocarboxylic fatty acids, acid oils after refining - by 14.0%.
