       Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy signed off on the draft national budget for 2020 on December 13.
The budget envisages the allocation of UAH1.2bn on the creation of the Bureau of Financial Investigations. Some UAH1.84bn will be spent on development and implementation of state investment projects, of, which UAH772.5mn will be allocated for healthcare, UAH390mn – for transport infrastructure, UAH190mn – for environmental protection, and UAH180mn – for education.
The draft budget also envisages the allocation of UAH52.76mn for the Government Debt Management Agency.
Receipts of the national budget in 2020 are planned at UAH1.093 trillion, including UAH974.7bn of receipts of the general fund of the national budget and UAH119bn of receipts of the special fund.
National budget expenditures in 2020 will amount to UAH1.18 trillion, including UAH1.052bn for the general fund.
The budget deficit limit was set at UAH94.3bn, or 2.09% of GDP.
 6.1.1 ​Budget dynamics - results
Ukraine’s general budget in 2019 posted a deficit of UAH84.3bn amid revenue growth of 8.9% y/y and an expenditure increase of 9.6% y/y​, the State Treasury reported on January 27. The deficit was equivalent of 1.8% of GDP .
General revenues met 97.5% of the annual fiscal plan, while expenditures were at 94.0%.​ The state budget deficit amounted to UAH78.0bn in 2019 amid a deficit ceiling set at UAH91.1bn.
The national budget receipts for 2019 increased 7.6%, to UAH998.28bn,
including growth of 5.5% for the general fund, to UAH879.83bn.
The national budget expenditures amounted to UAH1.073 trillion, ​which is 8.7% more than the expenses of the national budget 2018, including growth of 8.4% for the general fund, to UAH952.98bn.
