4.4.3 Retail sector dynamics
Retail sales advanced 9.8% y/y in real terms in 9M19, slowing from 9.9% y/y in 8M19, Ukraine’s State Statistics Service reported on October 21. In September, retail increased 8.9% y/y and declined 3.3% m/m in real terms. Regionally, the highest retail growth in 9M19 occurred in the Vinnytsia (17.6% y/y), Ternopil (16.9% y/y) and Kyiv (15.7% y/y) regions. It was slowest in the Chernivtsi (-1.4% y/y), Chernihiv (1.0% y/y), and Zakarpattia (1.4% y/y) regions.
