New Fortress Energy
advances construction of
LNG terminal in Mexico
New Fortress Energy continues to advance con- struction of an LNG receiving and regasification terminal in the port of Pichilingue, Baja Califor- nia Sur, Mexico.
Over the past months, marine work has been underway at the site of the terminal. With all the necessary permits obtained for onshore con- struction of the power plant, additional equip- ment, materials, and workers will be deployed to the site to expedite completion of the project.
“The BCS Government is in full readiness to achieve an energy transition that promotes new public and private investments in this sector, under a sustainability scheme that helps to avoid harming the environment,” said Governor Car- los Mendoza Davis.
The facility is being constructed with power generation to provide low-cost electricity and truck loading bays for the supply of LNG to local hotel and industrial customers.
“With the project well underway, we are closer to introducing more affordable and cleaner energy for Baja California Sur,” said New Fortress Chairman and CEO Wes Edens. “We have witnessed how LNG supply can become a catalyst for energy diversification and economic development and look forward to seeing similar results.”
“The LNG terminal at Pichilingue port is an important infrastructure project that will undoubtedly bring significant benefits to Baja California Sur,” said José López Soto, director of Port Authority Administration of Baja Califor- nia Sur.

PGS commences
GeoStreamer X survey in
Campos Basin
PGS is back in Brazil in 2020 with a Ramform Titan-class vessel, to acquire the first GeoS- treamer X MultiClient 3D seismic survey in the region. The Campos Deepwater GeoStreamer X project will deliver high-quality, long offset, multi-azimuth seismic data over the deepwater portion of northern Campos Basin. First data will be available Q4-2020.
The survey will provide the first 3D data
over blocks offered in the upcoming 17th Bid- ding Round, will inform operators on drilling decisions in 14th Bidding Round blocks, and will improve subsurface imaging of the pre-salt section outboard of Campos Basin oil giants, including Roncador, Albacore and Marlim.
Ramform Titan arrived in Brazil on schedule and commenced operations on February 25, just north of the Tropic of Capricorn and west of the Marlim field in the Campos Basin. PGS’ flagship seismic survey vessel is towing the largest acqui- sition spread ever deployed in Brazil, compris- ing over 140,000 metres of active multi-sensor streamers.
PGS’ Campos Deepwater GeoStreamer X program targets Campos Basin pre-salt open acreage, blocks acquired in the 14th Bidding Round, as well as open acreage offered in the 17th Bidding Round that is scheduled for late- 2020. The survey will cover an area of approx- imately 14,500 square km and overshoot PGS’ existing orthogonal MC3D, which is currently being reprocessed.
The tailored acquisition configuration for the GeoStreamer X project will provide 10-km-long offsets, to improve depth velocity modeling accuracy of the postsalt, salt and pre-salt sec- tions, facilitated by the use of PGS’ Full Wave- form Inversion (FWI) technologies.
These additional offset data also promise added angle range for pre-salt seismic ampli- tude analysis and reservoir characterisation. Multi-azimuth processing, incorporating the reprocessed orthogonal dataset will improve illumination of the subsurface structures found within the pre-salt plays in this portion of the Campos Basin.
Final multi-azimuth products on Campos Deepwater GeoStreamer X, available Q4 2021, will include TTI Kirchhoff and RTM (45 Hz) PSDM. These will benefit from both the new GeoStreamer fidelity and broadband reprocess- ing of the legacy data. PGS also will be offering a
high-resolution PSTM to aid in shallow drilling hazard analysis, gravity and magnetic data for regional basin analysis, as well as standard field deliverables. Fast track products will be available prior to the 17th Bidding Round, scheduled for late-2020.
Barrett Cameron, Vice President New Ventures NSA for PGS, commented: “PGS is delighted to return to Brazil in 2020 with the first GeoStreamer X project in this region, in the under-explored pre-salt play of the Campos Basin. Our previous campaigns, in Potiguar and Sergipe in 2018, proved the unique capacity of our Ramform Titan-class vessels towing large spreads to deliver efficient and safe operations in the challenging environment of Brazil. We are looking forward to better illuminating this por- tion of the Campos Basin, potentially containing large exploration opportunities. By combining a tailored GeoStreamer X design with an efficient and cost-effective Ramform Titan-class and leading-edge imaging technologies, we antic- ipate a step-change in image quality to enable future discoveries and provide an excellent base- line 3D survey.”

Ocean Infinity to support ExxonMobil in Guyana
Ocean Infinity, the next generation subsea marine robotics company, has been awarded a contract with ExxonMobil for high-resolu- tion Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) geophysical and geotechnical data acquisition within the Stabroek block offshore Guyana.
Ocean Infinity will simultaneously deploy their advanced AUVs in water depths of between 70 metres and 2,150 metres over an area of approximately 3,100 square km. This approach of autonomous operations at scale is a more sus- tainable way of operating at sea.
