Belarus' GDP made up BYN55.9bn ($25.9bn) in H1 2018, up 4.6% from the same period in 2017 , according to an update of date from the National Statistics Committee on October 5. In January-June 2018, the GDP deflator index made up 112.2% as against the same months a year before. The National Statistics Committee said that the second estimate of the GDP was carried out using three methods (the output approach, the expenditure approach and the income approach).
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has improved its forecast on Belarus' economic development ,according to the IMF's new World Economic Outlook. According to the IMF, Belarus' economy will expand by 4% in 2018 and by 3.1% in 2019. Earlier, the fund projected Belarus' GDP growth at 2.8% in 2018. According to the IMF, inflation in Belarus will make up 5.5% in 2018 and 2019.
