One third of Ukrainian CEOs predict their production will grow this year
and one half say it will remain stable, according to survey conducted in the fourth quarter of 2018 by the National Bank of Ukraine. The biggest optimists are in the processing sector and in Ternopol and Lviv regions. Optimism prevailed in all of the 24 regions, but for Kirovohrad.
Nearly two thirds of Kyiv residents (63%) support Ukraine's accession to the European Union . The number of Kyiv residents who support Ukraine's accession to the European Union (63%) and NATO (56%) has almost not changed over the past year. Another 18% oppose the country's accession to the EU, while 23% are against joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, according to a survey conducted by the Rating sociological group and presented by its Head Oleksiy Antypovych and Deputy Head Liubomyr Mysiv at a press conference. Almost two thirds supported joining the European Union, almost one in five did not, but 18% who are against joining the EU are not for Russia," Antypovych said. In this regard, he noted that a mere 5% of Kyiv residents choose the country's Russia-oriented foreign policy and advocate for the state's entry into the Eurasian Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus).
Ukrainians consider the armed conflict in the east of the country to be the most important problem  that needs solution, the the RAND Center for Social Engineering found in a survey released on January 23. "We asked the respondents about the most important problems in the country that need to be solved. Almost 65% said that the most important problem was the military conflict in the east and the events in the Sea of Azov, which had triggered the introduction of the martial law. The next block is the social and economic issues: salaries, pensions, prices and increase in prices for basic goods, tariffs, unemployment, corruption. Each position gained from 30% to 25%. The respondents could choose three problems. Corruption in the courts, social stratification is a bloc of the least significant problems that needs to be solved from the point of view of the respondents," sociologist, head of the research sector at the RAND Center for Social Engineering Serhiy Demyanov said, presenting the results of the poll at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. According to the poll results, 62% of respondents believe that the situation in the country develops in the wrong direction, 17.7% - in the right direction, 20.8% are undecided.
Most Ukrainians do not plan to leave the country , according to a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center. "63% of respondents said they have no intentions to leave Ukraine. 13% of those polled said they plan to go for temporary stay and return when the situation in the country gets better, 7% said they are ready to leave for permanent residence, others were undecided,” said Deputy Director General of the Razumkov Center Yuriy Yakymenko, an Ukrinform correspondent reported. At the same time, the survey shows that among young people under the age of 29, the percentage of those who want to leave is 47% against 38% of those who do not want to. The survey was conducted in June 2018 in all regions of Ukraine, except for the occupied Crimea and some areas in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A total of 2,021 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 2.3%.
Batkivschyna Party leader Yuliya Tymoshenko and showman Volodymyr Zelenskyare the most popular among possible presidential candidates  in Ukraine. Those are the findings of a survey conducted by the Social Monitoring Center and the Oleksandr Yaremenko Ukrainian Institute for Social Research from December 16 to 22, 2018. According to the poll, 13.4% of all polled 2045 respondents are ready to vote for Tymoshenko (and 18.6% of those who plan to vote), for Zelensky- 10.8% (15% of those who plan to vote). Opposition Platform - For Life Party leader Yuriy Boiko follows with 8.5% (11.8%), Civil Position Party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko 8.1% (11.2%), incumbent President Petro Poroshenko - 7.7% (10.7%) and Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko - 6%
