Russia to look into security of IoT
Russia's Ministry of Communication plans to pass the strategy of Internet of Things (IoT) development in Russia, which would focus on the security of IoT platform, Kommersant daily reported on March 27 citing the draft of the document.
Reportedly, law enforcement authorities could get access to the data on the IoT platforms, while the the ministry will promote creating a closed country-wide network to protect the Russian IoT.
The strategy notes that IoT networks are vulnerable

a registry and ID system for IoT devices in Russia.
It is also proposed to use only domestically pro- duced base station for certain types of networks, such as LPWAN frequency as of December 1 2020. Analysts and market participants surveyed by Kommersant daily believe that the decision to limit the use of foreign equipment could impede the development of the segment.
