The number of domestic travellers passing through Turkey’s airports was down nearly 21% y/y to 15.4mn people while the drop in international travellers was a sharp 40.2% y/y to 8.5mn.
Only 5.5mn passengers went through Turkey’s mega airport, Istanbul Airport, representing a 21% y/y decline with international passenger traffic at the airport falling 40% y/y. The airport presently has the capacity to serve 95mn passengers annually.
