International passenger traffic at the airport in Antalya, on the Mediterranean coast, declined by 22% y/y to 818,000. Russia, usually the source of a huge number of tourists for Turkey, suspended flights to Turkey until June 1, citing the resurgence of coronavirus cases in the country.

Turkey's aquaculture exports exceeded $1bn in 2020.
Turkey seized 416 tonnes of illicit tobacco in 2020, up from 122 tonnes in 2019. Turkey’s tax on cigarettes for the first six months of 2021 is set at 63%. A new tax rate will be announced in June.
The number of tobacco shops selling illegal and untaxed tobacco stood at around 6,000 in 2016 but was around 20,000 by the end of 2020.
Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BtcTurk on May 18 confirmed that personal data held on 516,954 users has been stolen.
Earlier in May, the personal data of around one million residents of Konya Municipality was taken by cyber thieves.
In March, Turkish online food delivery company Yemeksepeti said data it held on 21.5mn customers was believed stolen.
