    As of the end of April, Turkish Airlines operated a fleet of 362 aircraft, with 231 narrow-body and 106 wide-body planes, along with 25 cargo aircraft.
It served 6.4mn passengers in Q1, declining from 13.4mn passengers in the same quarter of 2020.
      BIM Birlesik Magazalar grew its store network from around 4,806 outlets at the end of 2014 to 8,348 at the end of 2019, mainly in Turkey, but also in Morocco and Egypt, Deloitte’s Global Powers of Retailing 2021 report noted.
Around two-thirds of the products on BIM shelves are private label.
BIM is the 11th fastest-growing retailer in the Top 250 with CAGR growth of 22.7% in 2014-2019, according to Deloitte.
Revenues of the retailer amounted to $7.1bn in 2019.
Hard discount supermarket chain A101 Yeni Magazacılık has grown its company-owned store network even more aggressively, from around 4,000 outlets in 2014 to 10,000 by the end of 2020.
It is the sixth fastest-growing retailer in the Top 250, with 2014-2019 CAGR growth of 35%.
A101’s revenues stood at $4.1bn in 2019.
Organised modern retailing in Turkey is taking market share from traditional retailers such as bakkals (traditional small grocery shops) and pazars (street markets).
