Taking into account the reserves in the territory of Belarus and Armenia, the reserve will amount to 73.824bn cubic meters.
At the same time, it is planned to bring the pumped volume per day to an unprecedented level of 847.9mn cubic meters, the holding said. Taking into account storage facilities in Belarus and Armenia, it will amount to 887.9mn cubic meters.
Gazprom stressed that the company’s priority task is to ensure high reliability of gas supplies to Russian and foreign consumers, and it continues to fulfill all contractual obligations.
It is also reported that the repair of 89 installations for complex and preliminary gas treatment at production facilities has been completed and that by the end of the year it is planned to commission new booster capacities at the Bovanenkovskoye and Yamburgskoye fields.
Gazprom’s construction of Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline from Russia through Mongolia to China might begin in 2024.
The construction of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline from Russia through Mongolia to China will begin in 2024, the Mongolian agency Montsame reports, citing the country's Deputy Prime Minister, Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan, according to Kommersant. Amarsaikhan said that the feasibility study of the project was 70% ready (the technical and economic analysis (TEA) was approved in April 2021). It is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Gazprom did not comment on these statements.
Soyuz Vostok is the Mongolian part of the Russian Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline, with potential capacity of 50bcm/a of gas.
Analysts do not think that physical pipeline construction will start unless a firm gas contract has been signed with China. If finally approved and implemented, the project would generate cash flows only after 2027-28, we believe. In general, though, further diversification of gas exports would be positive for Gazprom’s investment case.
To recap, Gazprom has a 30-year take-or-pay contract with CNPC for the delivery of natural gas through the existing Power of Siberia pipeline, with long-term annual deliveries of 38bcm/a (in 2021, the company supplied 7.1bcm to China).
The level of reserves in Gazprom's gas storage facilities is decreasing, despite the growth of physical supplies of Russian gas to Europe.
In three of the five company own’s UGS (Jemgum, Haidach and Bergermeer), gas withdrawals have been recorded. Gazprom confirmed that it continued to pump gas into its five own European UGS, while the withdrawal was conducted by the coowners of the storage facilities.
