Coca Cola Icecek (CCOLA) and Anadolu Efes (AEFES) revised up 2021 targets.
Nestle Turkey bought a minority stake in Dikey Vitamin, a Turkish e-commerce platforms developer for marketing sports nutrition and vitamin products. In October, Nestle launched the construction of a medical nutrition plant in Bursa.
Trendyol’s gross merchandise value, a measure of the products it sells on its platform, has grown by around 20 times in the past three years and is thought to be on track to hit $10bn this year. Founded in 2010, Trendyol serves more than 30mn shoppers and delivers more than one million packages per day from groceries to clothes.
Borsa Istanbul’s most valuable company, steelmaker Erdemir (EREGL), has a market value of around $8bn, half of Trendyol.
Getir signed a sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and Argentina-based technology firm INVAP have agreed that their joint company, GSATCOM Space Systems Inc, established at Middle East Technical University (METU) Teknopark in Ankara, will produce a satellite—named ARSAT-SG1—to meet the requirements of Argentina's state-owned GSM operator Arsat. Delivery is said to be planned for 2024, with the satellite to have a 15-year orbit life.
