MOL and GAIL sign charter contractforoneLNGcarrier
Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) today announced that, through a wholly owned subsidiary of MOL, a short-term charter agreement for a lique ed natural gas (LNG) carrier has been signed with GAIL (India).
GAIL is the largest natural gas company of India with approx. 11,400 km of cross- country existing trunk pipeline network and another 4,000 km pipelines in advance stage of completion.
GAIL is ranked no. 1 gas pipeline company in India and among the top gas utilities in Asia.  e company business activities range from gas transmission and marketing to processing (for fractionating LPG, propane, SBP solvent and pentane); transmission of lique ed petroleum gas (LPG); production and marketing of petrochemicals like HDPE and LLDPE.  e company has extended
its presence in lique ed natural gas (LNG) re-gasi cation, city gas distribution and exploration & production through equity and joint venture participations. Of late, GAIL also diversi ed into solar and wind power generation.
GAIL currently holds a LNG / RLNG portfolio of about 14 MTPA from various long and short-term contracts.  e company is
also committed to LNG trading globally.  e consolidated turnover of GAIL for FY 2018- 19 is about US$11 billion with a net income of about US$900 million.
It is expected that demand for gas will be increasing continuously in India, registering signi cant economic growth. MOL has been participating in Indian market since the beginning of LNG import into the country, with the distinction of having brought the  rst gas from Qatar.
MOL is currently participating in not only transportation of LNG but also the projects in India of  oating LNG receiving terminal and ethane transportation by the  rst very large ethane carrier (VLEC) in the world.

Shell and CHC continue
partnership in Browse
Basin
Shell Australia and CHC Helicopter Australia have announced the continuation of their successful partnership providing helicopter transportation services to the Prelude
FLNG facility in the Browse Basin.  e newagreementcontinuesCHC’ssix-year relationship with Shell in this monumental project development.
CHC will provide Sikorsky S-92 helicopters and crews for daily passenger transport and emergency  ights between the Broome base and the Shell Prelude project, which is located approximately 475 km (295 miles) north north-east of Broome in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.
Refuelling between Broome International Airport and Prelude will take place at Djarindjin Airport, which is owned and operated by the local Djarindjin Aboriginal Community.
CHC regional director for the Asia-Paci c Vince D’Rozario is proud of the relationship developed between Shell Australia and CHC and that this will be continuing.

EPC prequalification for
Brunsbuettel project
German LNG Terminal has said it will
start the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) prequali cation process this month for its LNG terminal project in Brunsbuettel, northern Germany.
Would-be contractors have until July 1, 2019, to announce their interest and receive a prequali cation package. Binding o ers will have to be prepared and submitted by prequali ed bidders between August and October.  e winners will be announced during the  rst quarter of 2020, followed by the release of an early – or limited – notice to proceed to with scheduled early activities.
German LNG Terminal is a joint venture between Netherlands-based Vopak and Gasunie, as well as Germany’s Oiltanking.  e planned combined import and distribution LNG terminal in Brunsbuettel will be built, owned and operated by the joint venture.
Mugardos LNG terminal yesterday welcomed the smallest vessel to have ever docked on its pier
 e Reganosa terminal in Mugardos welcomed the smallest vessel that has ever docked on its pier on last Sunday. It was the Coral Fungia, a ship that is only 137 metres
in length and which unloaded 9,500 cubic metres of lique ed natural gas (LNG) from the liquefaction plant in Cryogas in Vysotsk on the Baltic coast of Russia.  is operation is a step forward for small-scale vessel activity, an area in which a big increase is expected to be seen with the introduction of LNG as a fuel in shipping.
