Investors shrug off politics to boost deal value in emerging Europe

Investors largely ignored political instability in emerging Europe in 2018, as the value of M&A deals in the region soared by 20.1% during the year, according to a report published by law firm CMS in cooperation with information service EMIS.
Deal value across the region reached €80.5bn, the second-highest value in the last five years, in
January last year, the central bank forecast that at end-2018 inflation would stand at 7.9%. In the second inflation report released three months later in April of last year, the end-2018 inflation forecast was raised to 8.4%.
