in ISO tanks to China
PROJECTS & MALAYSIA’S state-owned Petronas has
COMPANIES exported its first shipment of liquefied natural
gas (LNG) stored in ISO tanks to China.
The major said on April 26 that the tanks,
which had been filled at its facility in Pengerang
in Johor State, had safely delivered to Shanghai
on April 23.
Petronas signed a spot contract for the ship-
ment with Tiger Gas (Hong Kong), an affiliate of
Tiger Clean Energy Ltd (TCEL).
The spot contract builds on a long-term sale
and purchase agreement (SPA) that Petronas
and TCEL signed in 2020 for the supply of LNG
to TCEL’s LNG ISO tank-filling facility in Bin-
tulu, Sarawak. As part of this agreement, Pet-
ronas’ LNG will be distributed to China using
TCEL’s ISO tanks, with the first shipment sailing
from the port of Bintulu to the port of Long Kou
on March 25. Petronas has begun exporting LNG to China in ISO tanks from its Pengerang facility.
