4.4.2 Nominal wages dynamics
Real wages in Ukraine grew 12.5% year-on-year in March, accelerating from a 10.7% y/y February advance, the nation's state statistics service Ukrstat reported on May 2.
Average wages were up to a nominal UAH10,268.9 ($392.3) in April from UAH10,237 the month before. That compares to the average UAH8,917 for agricultural work and UAH11,588 in manufacturing. IT pays the best with an average salary twice the national average of UAH20,516 in April, the last month for which data is available.
The leading regions for average monthly wages were the city of Kyiv (UAH16,207), the Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk region (UAH11,365) and the Zaporizhia region (UAH10,496).
In April, the average wage in Ukraine for the calculation of pension was approved in the amount of 8,664 hryvnias 25 kopecks (about $328).
