The Tempo Communications FI-100 fiber identifier is used to measure the approximate core
power in FTT(x) and P2P networks without the need to disconnect the fiber under test. The
low induced insertion loss when used with the precision adapters insures that the network
equipment to go into an alarm condition due to excessive bending of the fiber. The high

sensitivity detectors measure the direction of signal transport and are capable of detecting
injected tones from laser sources at 270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. The FI-100 is also capable
of sensing the core power in bend insensitive fiber that is being more commonly used in drop
fibers in FTTH installations.
